Dental surgery for Mark

Little Mark and I arrived at the clinic at 7 this morning. There were a few toys for distraction  waiting for him on the bed when he arrived. He is in really good spirits even when he went back with the nurses. Thank goodness cause he woke up this morning crying saying how scared he is.

He is now back there and the procedure will take about 45 minutes.

They dressed Brown Bear in his pjs. It was really sweet. He was so happy to hear that he was having a mask before they were putting in his IV.
I will update as soon as he is done.

Update :
He is out of surgery and sleeping peacefully. We will be heading home in a little bit. After sleeping for about an hour we headed home.

At home resting on the couch with some tylenol in him.

What an easy surgery if I can call it that.We are so used to having to worry if something serious may go wrong but we could relax this time round.

Thank you for all the support and prayers.
PS. Broc is doing better too.

Win some and loose some

Mark has recently started taking an appetite stimulant to help him put more meat on his bones. We have discovered that it has a very nice side effect drowsiness. For the past couple of nights he has been sleeping in his own bed and staying there. It has been so nice to have our bed back to ourselves. Mark has not slept through the night since he started having night terrors at a year old. He has been coming in at 5:30 when marks alarm goes off.
We were enjoying our comfy bed when Broc decided to come in on Wednesday night. Broc only comes to our bed when he is getting sick so I knew something was up. Yesterday after I picked him up from school he spiked a fever in the afternoon and then last night the seal bark appeared. I took him to the ped this morning and he confirmed our suspicions, Broc has the croup virus. After the ped he asked for his favorite lunch sushi. So we stopped to pick up some and sherbet too for his sore throat.

We came home and did the first of many saline neb treatments that we will be doing in the next couple of days. Lots of TLC and sherbet this weekend.Ped said to watch him over the weekend and if there is still a fever by Monday to have a CBC done to make sure we are only dealing with the croup.

Mark and I never expected Broc to get sick so soon after starting school. His teacher called and said that he is still very tired during the day so we will stick with picking him up at 11am for next week too.

We hope he will be better by Monday.

BIG school for our Buddy :-)

After many phone calls, meetings and writing letters Broc will be going to school on Monday. He will be going for 1/2 a day for a week and then the following week he will stay until after lunch. If he handles that well then he will go full day.

I am so excited for him. The principal and I are going to meet as well to draw up a 504 Plan for him too. That plan will have all the accommodations that he will need.

He will be taking a water bottle to school with him so that he can drink water through out the day. They are going to keep an eye on his ballance as well as he is having some issues with that too.

On the day that he goes for a full day if he starts to get really sleepy or tuckered out then we will go back to 1/2 a day with lunch until he can get used to longer hours.

On Monday I will post Kindergarten pics for you all.

First Grade

On his way to First Grade. Mark was so excited and a little apprehensive to start First Grade. He was not sure what he was in for.

Once he got off the bus he had a beaming smile and then we knew he had a great day.He loves his teacher and loves being in his new class so far.

He is very impressed that they sit in their own desks and not at a table. Open house will be in 2 weeks and then we get to see what his classroom is like.

Here is a pic of him on his frst day and then the bus going down the road.

Hope you have a great year Mark.Mommy,Daddy and Buddy love you.

Rainbow and District Convention

We have been having much needed rain these past few days and had a beautiful rainbow afterwards.

We also had our District Convention "Dog Assembly" this past weekend. It was very encouraging and loving. I am not going to say anything about it so as not to spoil the suprises for all of you in South Africa and Namibia who have not had it yet. There are great things to look forward too. In the meantime here are some pics that we took.We did take a new family pic there but that will be e-mailed to me later.I will post it as soon as I get it.

Eating breakfast at our favorite "Train Diner" as the boys call it.

He is just growing up too fast.

Hot Wheels and Legos

A childs dream come true. On one of our many trips to Indy we stopped at our favorite place. The Childrens Museum. They had a Lego and Hot Wheels exhibit. What a bonus.

Here are the many pics that we took.Enjoy them. In some of them the boys are a blur as you can only imagine how much fun they were having.
