Some Updates on Buddy's & Mommy's appointments

I will do my update first as it is short and sweet ( I mean pretty). I had a short arm cast put on on Monday and have to wear it for 2 weeks. After that I will be doing some intense therapy to get the full range of motion back in my wrist. I have been using it a little too much as it is hurting tonight. Nothing a little pain med wont take care of.

Isn't it pretty? I figured how many times in your life do you wear a cast. I might as well make it a stylish one.

So Broc saw Neuro and Immuno this week. Neuro thinks he may be having migraines and that is causing his off balance ,excessive talking and many other things he does when he gets ill. She thinks the migraines are causing him not to focus well and just total confusion in his body. His system is a total mess when he is ill so it could be a possibility. She wants us to try and describe his headaches to me and show me where they hurt. We have a picture of his head and he has to point on the picture where he hurts.

Immuno was very surprised that Brocs illnesses have not let up at all and nothing has changed. Not sure why he was so surprised.... He drew all his immune levels ,anti body, and every vaxine anti body level to see if they are still the same or if they have dropped any. He also asked me to get all the bills we have gotten from the insurance when Broc has been ill. Which includes cost for CBC , Drs visit,
x- ray,and then hospital cost if he was admitted. He is hoping to make a case with the insurance to ask them to approve a 3 month trial of treatment vs the cost of Broc being ill several times a month. He is going to be meeting with the medical director of our insurance as this will be Brocs only hope. We are not certain that this will work but he wants to give it a try. If it doesn't work then we know that we have done everything we can. Prophylactic ABX are not an option for him due to his risk of c- diff.
He also has chronic drainage which we need to try and dry up as its causing him to be re-infected over and over.

Although I am not holding my breathe on this as we know its a long shot we are certainly going to hope he gets approved.

Here are a few pics from last weekend when we went to the Special Day Assembly.

Sitting on the bench at Bob Evans after breakfast.

Taking a walk during the lunch break. The boys love to come outside to see the fish.

Lots of jumping fun

Last Sat Little Mark and I went on a small outing. We went with a couple of fiends to the fun bounce house. He loved. Had so much fun except when a little boy was following him. He did not like that very much. He loved the fact it was just me and him.

Here are lots of pics of the little guy having a ton of fun.

Sorry the pics are sideways.

Mommy's surgery

I had wrist surgery yesterday. A little more was found than they expected. I had a disc repaired - I never knew we had discs in our wrists. Anyway I also had a lot of inflammation in my wrist too. He is not sure where or why it's there.I also had a sizable cyst in there too. I am on the couch with my arm in the air. We managed pretty well with doing meds this morning and dressing them. Just braces and shoes were a challenge.
I have a cast on my arm which will come off next Mondy when I get my stitches out. I all ended up with a bigger incision than was expected.

Thank you for all the prayers and support fom you all.

More Updates

Our Buddy is fighting a virus again. He has been having fevers on and off, loosing ballance and just generally crabby feeling this week.
We are hoping it doesn't turn into anything more as we have a Special Assembly Day next Sat. We are also hoping that 2 very special people can join us too.

Not sure how many have been following the story about my wrist.Well I finally went for an MRI last week and there were quite a few findings. I saw a hand surgeon this past week and I will be having outpatient surgery on Tuesday. They will be repairing a torn ligament, fixing an abnormal one, taking out a cyst and cleaing up some loose cartilege that is floating around. He also said he may encounter some other things while he is looking in there but nothing he cannot handle. My recovery time will be 6-8 weeks but could be longer depending on what he does.

This weekend will be full of lots of house cleaning and laundry. Not sure when I will have both my hands back or at least be able to use a my left hand a little. You won't believe how much we take having both our hands for granted. Have you ever tried putting in contact lenses or taking them out with one hand? Have you ever tried putting on a sweater with one hand? WOW.... I really have a great respect for people who only have 1 hand or are disabled in some way.

Broc will be seeing Immuno/Allergy and Neuro in the coming weeks. We will share any news from those apps when we have it.We are really hoping to figure out a way to prevent him from getting sick so much.He has missed a lot of school since it has started and it is not only effecting him but everyone in the family. We are hoping that since Immuno hasn't seen him in a while they may have some new ideas on the table for him.

I am having lots of fun volunteering in Marks classroom everyweek.I love being blowed kisses across the classroom. He feels so special when I am doing literacy reading groups and I get put incharge of his group. It is also nice for me to observe him in the classroom setting.

In the next couple weeks the posts will either be very short or full of pics as I will be one handed for a while.

Thank you to everyone for your love and support.

Long Overdue

I have been under the weather for a while hence the missing blog posts.I will try and catch up on everything that has been going on.

First off we had Paige and Efrins Wedding. What a great day to celebrate and remember. The weather was a little chilly but the heaters and lots of people kept us warm.It was so wonderful to see family that I have not seen in YEARS ( about 20 maybe) and some about 10 years. It was also great to see old friends too.Fancy meeting in the US after so many years.

The following weekend my cousin and his family and my aunt came and stayed with us for a night or 2. What fun we had talking about old times and the fun we had when we were younger.

Little Mark lost some more teeth. He is not too thrilled about the idea and eagerly awaits the new ones.He doesn't like holes in his mouth.

Both of the boys won prizes at school this week. Mark won a book for excellent behaviour and reading and Broc won a guessing contest. He had to guess how many erasers were in a jar. He guessed 295 and was correct. He came home with a little case with a few gifts in them and a gift certificate for their book fair at school. It was so cute.

Healthwise the boys have been doing well.Broc has been at school for 2 weeks now. Both the boys got very good reports for the first quarter. Broc has improved tremendously with his drawing, coloring and writing. Mark got A's and B's for his grades. We are so proud of both of them.

Sorry for the long pause in posting but I think that is all the news for now.
Have a great day everyone.
