GI update and another ear infection

First of all we want to thank everyone who helped with meals, taking care of the boys etc. Thank you too for the cards ,phone calls and prayers.Thankyou too to my cousin Paige who left her darling husband for a week to come and take care of me and help Mark with the boys too. I am feeling much better and back to myself again.

We had an urgent app with Brocs GI on Monday as his tummy issues are really getting out of hand for him. He recently started drinking milk and that is when things got really bad. His GI has decided to take him off all dairy and lactose. He has never drunk milk until a few weeks ago when he asked for choc milk and we thought nothing of it.

That was when his issues got really bad. His GI thinks that he may have had this problem all his life and adding straight milk escalated it all. For now Broc will be on a lactose, dairy free diet. If he does eat any dairy he takes a lactaid tablet with his meal. He is really good about this and asks everytime he wants something if it has dairy in it. We are also cutting down on his drinking of gatorade incase he does have issues with breaking down the sugar in his gut. He has a new water bottle and loves it. He has not drunk gatorade since Monday. If anyone knows Broc this is HUGE for him as he LOVES his gatorade.

They are also running tests to see if he has fat or sugar malabsorption. We are really hoping that these tests will reveal something so that he can get back to eating like he used to without pain and discomfort. Maybe even get off some of his motility meds if that is possible.

He has been sick again this past week with another upper resp. infection and his third ear infection. It is possible that we may be looking at having his ear tubes taken out soon and possibly new ones put in.

We are going to be participating in some more research studies this Summer. We will be traveling to Seattle and Philly.

On a happy note the boys are doing so well at school. Broc has started Accelerated Reading in Kindergarten. He is so proud of himself. He also did his first spelling test today and got 100% . Mark is also doing well with his reading too. Both boys have a book to read every night. Daddy and I get a story read to us every night.

We are looking forward to a fun filled Summer with lots of days playing outside with friends.

We take pics every morning before school and send them to my mom and dad in South Africa. The boys love taking photos.

Kids Museum

On the last day of Spring Break, the day before Broc fell ill we went to the Kids Museum with some friends. It was a great road trip. A little loud but that happens when you put 4 boys in a van.

Here are some moments I captured. It was a fun filled day.Very exhausting for 2 mommies, but well worth it.

 Pre-historic days

 The grocer market
 Picking apples to sell

 At the vey clinic
Broc washing the kitty
 Mark checking the dogs heart

 Pretending to be fireman

Building a house

 Painting the house

 Climbing is so much fun

 They made it !!!
Brocs favorite thing to play in

 The coolest room ever !!!!

What a GREAT DAY!!!!

The way the cookie crumbles.....

In Broc fashion he has fallen ill again. We are hoping this is very short lived as he is starting to feel better already or that his body has had it for a long time and now its rearing its ugly head. We had some tests done yesterday and are waiting for the results.
We are hoping that its a small virus and with no fever today he can go back to school tom.

The little girl that we wrote about last is doing really well. She is still in the hospital but recovering well.

I am really stressing about my surgery.I am very scared of the unknown as no one knows what the outcome will be until the surgeon is in there .I am also worried about how it will effect the boys. They are older now and can understand what is happening.I know Little Mark will be worrying all day at school how his mommy is doing.Broc I think will not worry so much. I have packed little goodie bags for them both to get from me when they get home from school on Tuesday. Nothing spectacular but just a little something to let them know mommy is thinking of them too.I am hoping for a very simple procedure with a very short recovery.

We would like to thank every one in advance for all the help we have been offered. We really appreciate your kindness, love and support.

Thank you....

Lots happening.....

Poor Buddy has been fighting an ear infection and upper resp infection for 3 weeks now and they are finally gone. It is so sad to see him in pain like that. He is yet again being attacked by the nasty campylobacter. It is making him very miserable at times and he is skipping lots of meals. We are very happy to say that he has not had a high fever episode for a while now.Maybe he is outgrowing them.Wouldn't that be GREAT!!!

We are in the middle of Spring Break now. We are doing Drs apps, therapies and spending lots of time together.

Here are a few photo's of a very special evening we all shared last week.

The Bow Tie Club

We are going to a surprise place on Friday with the boys and their friends. We will have lots of pics to show when we get back.
We are doing lots of Spring Cleaning this week as I am having a small surgery next week and will not be able to do house cleaning for a while.
I love giving away/throwing away old toys or broken ones. Its less for me to tidy when there is a mess.
I have also done lots of organising around the house.I have taken a few ideas from Pinterest and bought boxes and baskets to put things in.I have used our labeler(not sure if thats a word) so much that I had to buy new batteries for it.

Can you believe this little boy will be turning 7 in a few weeks time.My how time does fly!!!

I miss those baby days. :-(

Please would you all say a little pray for a little friend of ours that is having brain surgery at the end of the week.
