Good News!!

We heard today that Broc's Halter monitor test came back normal. He did have a few fast heart beats or extra beats but Dr C said that its nothing to worry about. They are saying the reason for his fast heart beats during the stress test was due to Broc being a little anxious and not knowing what to expect.Although he is normally very composed during most procedures and looks like he is handling them well,as any human person he does get nervous and it shows in his fast heart beats.

Poor little guy is handling everything so well.We had the discussion yesterday about what will be happening next to him as he had heard somethings and wanted to know what was going on.So far we think he will be having a CT angiogram. He was very pleased to know that his daddy has had one done before. He was also happy to know that he will be asleep for the whole thing.

We will be getting the call this week to schedule that procedure. Both boys do have a few appts. coming up next month so we will try and fit it in when we have a break.

As soon as I get the call I will post the date and what the procedure will be.I will also try and find a link to it so that you will know what is happening.

Well Child Check-ups - 4yrs and 5yrs

So we already knew that we have BIG boys. The ped confirmed that for us today. Both the boys are measuring as a 6 year old for height and weight.Never mind the fact that Broc is still 3 and will only be 4 in June.

Mark : weight - 45.6 pounds
           height -  44 inches

Broc : weight  -  44 pounds
          height  -  42 inches

Both boys are doing very well in there development. We just need Mark to eat a few more kinds of foods and he will be doing good. The ped gave the referral for Mark to see Dr Z at the end of May.As you may have read we are waiting for Dr S to get back to us regarding Brocs leg.We should get the results from his halter monitor test next week sometime.

24hour Halter Monitor

When Broc was having his exercise related doppler test last week the tech noted that his heart would race every now and then for no reason at all.She suggested that he wear a halter monitor for 24 hours.

I have to keep an eye on him 24/7 as he likes to chew his wires.

On another note we got the results back from the stress test.We were not expecting anything from the test other than a base line for the future. His diagnosis has been ranked severe and an angiogram has been recommended. We sent all the results to Dr S and are waiting for him to get back to us.

Broc saw the ENT yesterday and was given a thumbs up till next year.We were happy to get some good news.He also saw the Pulmonary Dr and she has given him an inhaler with an air chamber to try and see if it works better.

We will post as soon as we have any more news.

Broc's stress test.

As Broc is still having issues with his right leg Dr S ordered a stress test to see how his leg reacts while he is very active. We arrived there and K his technician was so kind to explain everything she was going to do.It was easier for him as he has had her before for the ultra sounds.

He layed on the table and they covered him with blood pressure cuffs. He looked like the Michalin Man.(sp). He had to lay very still while they were taking his pressures in his legs and arms.Once they were done with that he then got to do his favorite thing...run.He still had the cuffs attached to him and he had to run up and down the hallway for 5-6 minutes to get his blood pumping and heart racing.

Once he was done he had to jump back on the table and they had to get pressures again as soon as they could. The pressures are supposed to go up when you exercise but in his right leg they dropped.

While he was having to lay still for the measurements he had a couple times when his heart would race and then go back to normal. That was before he had done any running. So it was suggested that he wear a holter monitor for 24hours to see what his heart rate does.We called Dr C his cardiologist and he has set it up for next Wed.

We will post when we get any results back.
He did such a great job laying still. He got to pick 2 monster trucks afterwards.

A very busy mommy

As some of you know I signed up for aux.pioneering this month. So far things are going pretty well. Both boys have a cold/allergies so that might set me back a little but I will try and make it.

We are still waiting for the results of Brocs test results.I spoke to Dr Z via e-mail and she said that if his test results are negative then she will go ahead with the micro-array test as well to make sure she is not missing anything.

Since I last posted I have made an appointment for both myself and Mark to see Dr Z as well.We will be seeing her at the end of May.I am happy that all of this is happening before Mark starts school so that all the accommodations can be made for him before hand.

We were also told to make an appt. with the ped.ortho do we have that at the beginning of May.A couple days after he will have his x-rays taken with Dr H his original ortho dr.

We have also heard from Dr S and he wants Broc to have another test done for his legs, called a exercise related doppler.Firstly to see what his numbers are now and if they are fine then to have a baseline for the future.

Broc is seeing ENT and pulmonary in 2 weeks. We should get a thumbs up at the ENT as he has healed really well from his surgeries.I am not too sure about what Dr K will say about Brocs lungs. We are hoping that there is no damage from all the pneumonia episodes that he has had.We are also interested to see what his lung capacity is.I am hoping for a very informative appointment and a better plan of action for him.

Mark will have another appt for Mark with the ortho as we misplaced his SMO's (ankle braces)at Walmart and no-one can find them.So he needs to have another set made.He is hoping for a construction pattern this time.Last time he had the Cars theme.

Mark had Wacky Wednesday last week and wanted to share his wacky pics with you all.He is so happy at his school.I cannot believe he only has just over a month of school left.My baby is growing up.
