An awesome day at La Porte Hospital

We came to the hospital for Brocs monthly infusions but we had a surprise up our sleeve. Well a couple actually. We donated a book to the hospital kids corner and met the CEO Ashley. They had little gift bags for the boys each. In the bags they had a lab coat each with their names on it and a tree frog. They also got a water bottle, mini first aid kit, a freezer pack and a hand sanitizer.

Once they opened their gift bags and put on their lab coats they were delighted to hear we were going to tour the hospital lab and visit the helipad.

Visiting the lab was an a amazing experience. We learnt how they run the blood tests and we saw the different cells under the microscope. We also got to see how blood cultures are done. The boys loved seeing the different bacteria that were growing.

Thank you to all the friends in the lab that made this possible and for taking the time out to show us what you do.

As we got back to our room Mark from maintenance had another surprise for us. A trip to the helipad.

Wow what a day. Thank you everyone for a wonderful day the boys will never forget. La Porte hospital is our second home apart from Riley. Everyone here knows us.
