Some new kicks!

Our Buddy has been having a lot of knee, leg and feet pain. It has a lot to do with his chronic pain from his connective tissue disease but it also has a lot to do with his alignment. He also toe walks a lot. So much so that he could be looking at a surgery to help his tendons out. We all know his does not need anymore surgeries so trying to help align him is the best option.

He used to wear SMOs (special ankle braces) when he was younger and then graduated to UBCs (a molded support in each of his shoes). Now he is back to wearing SMOs as the UCBs are not supporting him as well. He is also not able to toe walk with SMOs although he tries really hard sometimes. We have to keep reminding him.

Here is a pic of his SMOs as well as his new shoes. Unfortunately when you have SMOs you need a bigger size shoe. Well in Brocs case you need a shoe that is 2 sizes bigger.

The Dinos were a no brainer. Unfortunately they didn't have frogs for him otherwise he would have chosen them.

In other news Broc will be seeing Pulm next week. We are hoping to do some testing then and then we will go back for more. He will also be having an iron infusion that day too. Sadly his right ear has another blood clot in it so that may have to be removed when we go back to Cincy in March. The Immunology team has asked to meet with Broc.

There are about 10 days left to get a sweatshirt if you would like one. Here is the link.

Thank you again to all our friends and family for the love and support. We really do appreciate it.

  1. I hope they help! Two of mine wear orthotics to help with alignment--they both hate the orthotics but without them they are in pain so they tolerate the orthotics most of the time
