Lactose and dairy allergy

Finally after 5 and a bit years our Buddy has been dx with  lactose and dairy allergy. We have also been told to eliminate artificial sugars and anything made with fructose corn syrup. We are also cutting down on the many of sugar he consumes. We have a much happier Buddy on our hands now. Hardly any tummy pains or horrendous smelling gas. He is learning to ask people to read the ingredients. He will stop us before he puts anything into his mouth and asks. He can also take a lactaid tablet before eating or drinking anything that has lactose in it if he has no option. We really want him to use them on the odd occasion but he seems to rely on them very often, so at times we have to say NO.

We are so happy that we have finally found a Dr that was willing to go the extra mile to help figure out Brocs tummy issues. He still deals with his reflux, gastroparesis and digestive issues but we are hoping that once his gut starts to heal we may be able to eliminate some of his meds.

We are hoping too that this may help with his upper resp infections and ear infections. He has been battling these continuously since Feb. Allergy season has hit and it seems as if it will be a bad one for him too. He is also waking up tired every morning and very exhausted after school every day. We are hoping that its his allergies that are causing these new symptoms.

Little mark is also struggling with allergies but it seems as though all his meds are helping so far.

We are all looking forward to Summer break with lots of fun and friends.
