Brocs Bucket list

Once we found out about Brocs Open Heart Surgery Broc was obviously disappointed that he would once again have so many restrictions and not be able to go places so he wrote a bucket list for his surgery.

Brookfield Zoo
Thursday Mark took the day off work and we left early for the zoo. It wasn't too hot and unbearable outside. There were lots of spray stations to keep us cool. We also took advantage of all the indoor exibits.

Summer Party - Emoji Party

Last Summer the boys wanted a party but unfortunately Broc ended up inpatient 3 times over the Summer. His nurse and I quickly put together a small party - Emoji themed in a couple weeks. Party was last Friday. What a blast all the kids had and moms. We loved watching our kids have fun slipping and sliding. Give kids water and they will have a blast. Water balloons were a must for Broc. We unhooked him from all his lines and let him be free and have fun with all his friends.
A very close friend made Emoji cupcakes for us and Broc had his own special cupcake with a mask on it. We played a cool game called Pin the Poop in the Toilet. Kids had a blast with that one. The photo booth was a hit too.

 Boys and their toys.

The Movie

We ended with Party with popcorn and a movie. The kids and some parents loved watching the
Emoji movie. Broc cannot handle the smell of popcorn so him and his buddy Charlie stayed in the sun room and played with cars and dinosaurs.

The Sleepover

The Boys Buddies John and Charlie stayed for the sleepover. What fun these boys had playing games and spending time with each other. You can tell by their faces it was a blast too.
Unfortunately with all Brocs equipment that he needs at night he slept in his own room but the other 3 slept in the living room. For Broc it still qualified as a sleep over.

We weren't able to complete all Brocs requests but I think we did pretty good with the short time we had left before he went into quarantine. He is continuing to do the Epo shots twice a week and will be having a much needed iron infusion this week too.

We have a huge surprise for everyone this Friday and I will post a link to it as soon as I can. Here is a sneak peak .......

Thank you for all your love, prayers and support.

  1. Kerrigan, thanks for sharing these pictures and memories. Glad you are able to do some fun things as a family before Broc's surgery. Will continue to keep you and the family in my prayers.
