Thankfully we chose to do something fun right in the very beginning. We went to a Cubs game with some friends. Broc was not feeling his best but we got to see the fireworks and be together as a family. The boys had an impromptu sleepover the same night. They all had fun.
Last Sunday Broc was due to get sick. I know that sounds really weird that I can tell when he is going to get sick but its happened once a month on the same day , we just dont know the hour. A couple days before the day his sensory will hit its peak and and his pain too. Sunday morning his meds started backing up and I knew things were going down hill fast.
We got home from meeting and Broc went to lay on the couch. He stayed there the whole day. Just laying there playing on the iPad or watching TV. Broc doesn't willingly lie down ksoni knew he wasn't feeling well. His fever was about 100.9F at 4pm. Later that evening he was getting quiter and quieter. He shot up to 102.8F. I packed him up and we headed to the ER. Unfortunately we ran into a Dr that thought he knew Broc best. He wasn't treated like he was supposed to be. His led ordered iv abx for Monday and Tuesday. We really thought we were good to go for the weekend and looking forward to it.
Wednesday Broc and I took a trip to Riley to see his neuro surgeon. She was very happy with the way he healed from his surgery. We discussed a lot about brocs future and what has been going on over the past couple months. Broc will be having an MRI in December to zee how his brain and syrinx are doing.
On the way home from Riley I got a phone call to say that one of Brocs blood cultures grew. So we went home to pack and headed over to La Porte to be admitted.
So here we are waiting for his second set of cultures to grow or not grow. We would prefer them not to grow. Broc will be on 2 iv antibiotics until Sat morning unless his cultures grow then that will be a whole new ball game.
Being closer to home has allowed Lil Mark to spend lits of time with us.
Mark is loving the endless supply of Italian Ice.
Thank you for all the prayers and support.
