Broc is recovering slowly. He is still running a low grade fever and battling an upper resp. infection. His brother Mark was diagnosed with strep at the beginning of the week so he is on antibiotics. He is on the mend.
The ped is hesitant to give Broc more antibiotics as he just finished one Sat from his surgery. We got the results back from his ph study and the poor guy refluxed 141 times in 24hours.No wonder he is so uncomfortable when he is not on medication, but because his reflux episodes don't last longer than 5 minutes his reflux scored a normal score on the test.
His GI dr is not going to treat him according to the test cause it did prove that he clearly has an issue with reflux so he is continuing with his reflux meds.We are hoping that the surgery will help with his reflux too.We are hoping that it will improve over time.
His ped has drawn some hormone labs on him to rule out his hormones being a factor for his rare leg bones. We will be very happy if they come back negative then we know that we are dealing solely with a genetic issue.
We are still waiting on the geneticist app as she only comes to La Porte twice a month.
Broc is still having leg and knee discomfort, but we will just medicate him when he needs it.There is not much that we can do about that now either.
Other than all his aches and pains and rare issues he is doing really well.He still goes all day till he runs out of energy. He pushes himself to the limit every day.
Although his heart is repaired for now we still have to be careful about him getting sick, especially in the Winter months.
We are hoping for a great month in April so that we can auxillary pioneer. We do have some appointments for Broc but hoping they will not hold us back.
Thank you again to everyone for all the support and love you show us.
